Hello Codologic Team
As I can see, you're back and have already been extremely busy updating Codoforum. It's really great that you're back; I've missed being able to use Codoforum properly.
I also have a little surprise for you, which I'll send you in the coming days. I've been working very hard on Codoforum myself because I wasn't sure how long you would prioritize the other project.
What I did - a little teaser:
A substantial Codoforum 5.4.1 maintenance and security update is currently in progress and mostly already finished.
So far, we have modernized several outdated dependencies, resolved remaining compatibility issues, tightened security-sensitive areas, and completed a full PHP 8.4 syntax review of the Codoforum-owned codebase. The current maintenance build has also been deployed to a real forum and successfully passed frontend, administration, category, posting, login, and logout tests.
We are now working on CodoBridge, a clean replacement for the legacy SSO plugin. Instead of permanently matching users by email address, CodoBridge will use a stable, non-reassignable identity. Passwords remain inside Joomla, every login receives a short-lived single-use authorization code, and the browser never receives the private client secret.
CodoBridge is being developed as two coordinated packages:
CodoBridge for Joomla (now you can offer FreiChat + Codoforum with a Joomla connection)
CodoBridge for Codoforum (as a replace of the old SSO Plugin)
The first Joomla 6.1 development build is already taking shape and passes PHP 8.4 syntax validation. The Codoforum client, account-linking logic, installation packages, security review, and full HTTPS end-to-end tests are the next steps.
Once the replacement has been proven reliable, the troublesome legacy SSO plugin can finally be retired from the maintained build.
The overall goal is deliberately conservative: preserve Codoforum 5.4.1, avoid unnecessary breaking changes, improve its security and PHP 8.4 readiness, document all maintainer changes in English, and provide a dependable base for future operation.
You`ll also get a Codoforum own new Privacy Plugin for the DSGVO & Cookie Laws which are now standard in many countries.
By the way I'm currently working on developing my own 2.5D game engine, https://parlyn.org, ohhh and I'd be happy to remove spam from the Codoforum community again if you still want me as a moderator
Greetings and all the best to you and your family.
Kind Regards, Andreas @WebCrew
