What part does codoforum play here ?

Say in the feature request section of the codoforum a user makes a feature request that the dev team likes. The dev team can link that forum request to a new JIRA request. The forum user can see the status of the request by looking back to the topic. Or if the administration sets permissions differently, the user will only see that the JIRA issue has been created.
