Hi,

Is there any version of FreiChat which provides Customer Support. The latest version which I have tested on local allows guest to communicate with other guests, what I require is a customer support, means to say, guests can only chat with admin, and so does the members of the site. So is there any thing related to this that FreiChat has got to full fill the requirements of customer support?

it is not supported by default, but it is very easy to make it work the way you want.(you only need to impose some restrictions)
tell me which CMS/driver are you using, i will let you know how to modify it to impose these restrictions.

I am not sure whether previous reply got to you or not as I don't see it in the history of this discussion on current forum.

So just to ensure "I am using Joomla" And I would appreciate if you could guide me in how to make FreiChat work as a Customer Support on this Joomla CMS.

add a new field in frei_session table to indicate whether the user is admin or not.

then in server/drivers/joomla.php

there are 2 functions createFreiChatXdb and getDBdata , make sure you SELECT and INSERT that extra column appropriately.

after that in functions getGuests and getUsers , add a condition in the WHERE clause to check whether the selected users are admin or not using the extra field.

i know it requires some modification, but it shouldn't be very difficult.

Kindly can you be more specific about the change, You know exactly what you are referring, so kindly I will appreciate if you give me the change (coding) instead will save me time and lots of hit and trial.

Just to make sure you have understood what i require, writing below the summarized form of FS.

1) admin can chat with all
2) guests can chat with only admin
3) members can chat with only admin

to accomplish above three scenarios what to do?

The next version 5.0 is going to be released in about 3 days.

And so if you make any changes in the current version , they are not going to
work in 5.0 since 5.0 uses PDO for SQL queries, diferent from previous versions.

So its better you wait for the next release .

The system is aimed at building social networks, dating sites, online clubs, and city portals.I like your FreiChat very much.I would like to integrate it to my site,and all other users of this system have the same desire.I tried install the chat.The installation works very well,and the chat works on the site.There are are just some jQuery conflicts with the system.And I could find the way how to connect friends ti be shown in the chat.Is it possible to make a version compatible with this system?

First of all, the whole thing is in Russian and i don't understand Russian.
yes It is possible to make it compatible with the system, but i can't really help unless i get an english version.
