Ability to show topics as solved, sold, pending etc ( customizable from back end) with option to choose colour of text and/or icon would be useful....

Yes, we have been thinking about it.
Something like 'mark as solved' would be useful in this forum too.
Do you have any idea on how should we present this option to the users ?
How about giving an option like 'Set topic status as'
which will give a drop down list.
The options in the dropdown list will be editable(color/icon/text) in the backend.
The status will then be prepended to the topic title similar to other forums.
original poster or admin/moderator could have permission, maybe also have ability to send email reminder in the edit/delete/merge/move bit...
