Issue with uploading pictures and smilies

Hi there,

I am seeking your help as I have installed the codoforum and now enjoy playing with it. Unfortunately, I experience some issues with when attaching pictures to a post. I can see the pics in the preview but as soon I submit the post the pics are visible only as name.jpg. The same apples to the emote icons.

I can check on my CentOS server the pics are uploaded and available on the file system.

Could you please give me a hand with this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @adesh1414127033 ,

I would but my forum is not published yet. I am currently testing it on my home Linux server - CentOS.

Can I give you something else logs, screenshots, etc. ?

Thanks for your help !

Its difficult to say what is causing this problem.

Can you check the codo_posts table in your database ?

For any post containing link, post the imessage and omessage column contents here .

@adesh1414127033

Here it is the DB record for the example above:

'8', '4', '10', '1', '56279bc2d9216.jpg \n\nThis was a lifetime ago smile', '<p><img alt=\"56279bc2d9216.jpg\"></p>\n<p>This was a lifetime ago <img alt=\"smile\"></p>', '1445436395', NULL, '1', '0'

the omessage column is:

<p><img alt="56279bc2d9216.jpg"></p>
<p>This was a lifetime ago <img alt="smile"></p>

Below also attached the content of the default img directory which contains the uploaded pic:

I can't understand what's going on smile Could it be something that I need to further install on the server?

From the table record you posted, it looks like codoforum is removing the src attribute from the img tag.

Which server are you running codoforum on ?

It is difficult to identify the problem without being able to replicate it.

Can you try installing it in some other server ?

Hi @adesh1414127033,

following your advise, I have installed it locally on my win10 machine with XAMPP v5.6.12. Same CODO version behavior is similar the picture upload is successful for transferring the file on the on the server in the right directory, but still the pictures are not displayed in the posts correctly (in XAMPP even the post preview does not show the pictures which worked on my linux server). Surprisingly the issues with the Smiles does not appear in XAMPP.

I can see other members in the community experiencing the same issues on different hosting set-ups, so could you please advise as I have tried with two different environments both of which aligned with your requirements for PHP and MySQL versions.

PS: Thank you so much for the support ! I look forward to the new version of the forum !

Cheers!

@adesh1414127033 , should we consider the 2-3 days response after reposting the topic as a lack of interest in the identified by several members issues with the product?

Is someone trying to reproduce the defects on your end?

In a previous post you committed release by end of October ... having this and the above mentioned make me ask the question: Is codoforum just an project/product with no future cuz you put behind your back.

Hi,

Yes, it is true that we have not been putting a lot of efforts this month.
But, we assure you, we will pick up development speed again like before.

We did try to replicate your issue but with no avail.

We have been testing it on Linux servers, we will test it on a Windows machine and let you know the results tomorrow.

@adesh1414127033 , thank you so much for this reply, it really made me happy as I believe that there is a huge potential in your product.

Let me know if I can help with the tests. I am ready to re-image my server if you want me to. Just let me know what would be the preferred set-up (OS ver, php, mysql, etc).

Hi,

We tested it again in another server and it worked fine.

I think the fastest way to solve this bug would be if we can look at what is happening on your side.
Can we connect on teamviewer ? We can then solve that bug right in front of you.

Hi @adesh1414127033 ,

Sounds as a good proposal not only to have it fix but also to understand what causing it so we can document here the solution for the future clients/users of your product.

I am based in Sydney, Australia and can do any day after 20:00 (I think this is like 14:30 in Mumbai). Let me know when we can organize such a session, my Skype is *.

Cheers!
