Hello -

FreiChat installed very easily on our internal intranet - and without any errors. However, we cannot send any messages to each other.

User names are displayed properly. Messages that have been sent are displayed properly in the message pane. However, the recipient does not receive them.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

BTW I'm using FreiChatX.4.6.2 with Joomla Version 1.5.22

i guess i know what is happening, the queries used don't have bacticks and there are some versions of MYSQL which require you to use backticks.
You can either wait for v.5.0 or just add backticks "`" for the fieldnames in all SQL queries.(especially for INSERT queries)

Thank you very much for the suggestion. As I am not very experienced with this, could you show me one line of code in one of the files that I should change? Then maybe I can figure out how to change all of the rest :)

Also, when will version 5 be coming out?

I have the same problem, most of the messages are not received. I hope next release will fix that.

if you say only some messages are not sent, then it has to do something with the server, may be the server is responding too slowly.

@systech, it would be better if you wait for v.5, changing the queries would simply take too long, and can be a real pain if you are not experienced enough.

v.5 may come out in another 20 days.

Does it happen(messages are not sent) on all your sites where you have installed FreiChatX or some of them?
are all sites on the same server?
A lot of sites use FreiChatX, failure to deliver a message is nearly impossible unless the message itself is not sent.
it is very easy to find out what is happening, open the chrome browser, right click->inspect element-> click on network tab.

start sending messages on freichatx, you will be able to see everything what is happening from whether messages are sent or not, received or not, response time of your server etc.

Does Version 5.1 fix the issue that I originally posted about?

So I just tried to install V5.1, and after confirming that arg.php and configuration.php were both writable, and all of the DB parameters were correct, I clicked the submit query button, and that resulted in a blank page (/freichat/installation/install.php). No new tables were created in the DB, either. I never ran into this problem with the earlier version, which didn't work for other reasons. Do you have any guesses as to what the problem might be?
