have tried few different versions includeing cb pure and x but i still get the same problem, frei chat showing no friends on line, i also cant save configuration in back end. have had similar problem before but managed to solve the problem by installing a different version but no matter what i do now it wont work.

(have tried different browser loged in as 2 different users, boath connected in cb)

How did you solve this? I have a similar problem... My website is installed on my local machine on IIS, I gave full control permissions to everyone in the Joomla Folders.

Hope you can help me (just wondering is something related with session or other kind of plugin conflict? Curiously i had a similar problem with Joomla Facebook Chat free component on JED website, the online users are not displayed)

there was a tiny bug in the installer of the version, i have uploaded it again, just download it and install it again!!

hi, thanks for the fast reply. Users are now displayed but i get a javascript error "Unexpected token ." on freichatcss.php

I tested to open a chat window in two different browsers (IE and chrome) to have "2 guests" online but the private window when i chat from one to each other is not displayed.

I cannot understand the problem just with the screen shot.

Can you set $debug=true in ~/freichat/arg.php

After this,
There will be a file named freix.log that would be created when you refresh the page

Copy paste the contents in that log file here.

seems everything ok anyway as you can see in the screen shot the receiver didnt get the message. I can see the user changing status, but chat window and text written isnt displayed on receiver window

try enabling/installing firebug in mozilla. and see the console , tell me what response do you get for each request that is being sent.

that is correct. it is from an earlier version of freichatx (when freichat was a joomla module).
I havent tested how the variable affects the present version, but its safe to leave it as it is.
it actually hides the online user list.
