In the english.php I defined the following:

$frei_trans['status_online'] = 'Sie sind online';
$frei_trans['status_busy'] = 'Sie sind beschäftigt';
$frei_trans['status_invisible'] = 'Sie sind unsichtbar';
$frei_trans['status_offline'] = 'Sie sind offline';
$frei_trans['default_status'] = 'Sie sind verfügbar';

The message in the little status line (I'm online) looks like this:

Sie sind verfügbar

Another question: The status never seems to be updated, when I hit one of the status buttons to change my status. I waited quite some time, nothing changed.

I cant tell you the reason for the weird message without debugging.
Also to change status to busy or invisible you need to click on the letters ,
not on the circle image .

Please give me your website url and enable the chat for guests too, if you have
restricted to users in FreiChatX admin .

I cannot give any solutions as i am unable to replicate any of your problems in
my localhost

I do click on the text and the led in the top of the frame changes colors.

I tried changing status and it was working perfectly in your website .
Can you exaggerate your problem .

And for the weird status message try doing whats said in below post

The status change does work, just the message below the buttons is very strange. Changing the "freichap.php" did not help.
