Today I installed codoforum, but it is showing HTML tags in the received emails as shown in screenshot. I have tried to switch between SMTP & mail() but it was not helpful.

Please help me to resolve the problem

Sometimes emails come through with HTML showing on your page. This happens when an email with HTML content is sent through as plain text.

Go to your email notification settings (your provider) for this email and make sure the box to "Send Emails in Plain Text" is not checked.

Thank you @WebCrew for responding. I am using SMTP service of my shared hosting. I didn't found any settings for disabling plain text emails.

I believe that it is the PHP script which defines whether the email is HTML or plain text.

Hi,

The mail sender in Codoforum already defines it as HTML so ideally you shouldn't see those tags.

Did you modify the existing mail templates in any way? Can you please post the template content of Await approval template here?

Sorry I didn't made any changes to the email formats before this issue, but after the issue, I attempted to make some changes (which are still showing the HTML entites on the sent mails). The template is:

Hi [user:username],
Thank you for registering at [option:site_title].
Here is the activation link: [this:confirm_url]

It is difficult to find the cause for this problem. Can you try using the test mail (in email configuration) or the mass mail feature to see if this problem persists there?

I want to learn this programming language, can you suggest any sources for learning?

There is no special programming language specifically for the subject of Emails or Email Templates etc.

What is mainly used is HTML, CSS (never hurts), JS and above all PHP, oh and some PHP frameworks that may be used by the respective CMS or forum system to make programming in PHP a little easier.

In any case, it takes a while until you have at least some basic knowledge of these 4 programming languages. Many say it is good to learn HTML and CSS first because it is relatively easy. However, I am of the opinion that with PHP and JS you can learn two very, very powerful programming languages with which you have a lot more options than with HTML and CSS, which are mostly only used in frontend development.

I hope you enjoy learning, there are plenty of good tutorials on the Internet and also on YouTube.
