Hello Codoforum community. It's I!


Just kidding. But no, really.


I've noticed a issue with my Codoforum installation of recent with emails.


Some emails are not being pushes threw of recent, or sending to many times.


As an example, a user who has "daily digest" will receive the daily digest around 10-15 times per day.


Or when someone responds to a forum post they have it set to notify them of, it just won't send anything.

No, no errors in the frontend. However if I try to manually trigger CRON "notify" in the admin dashboard it returns the following:

Apparently a compatibility problem with the SQL database. Unfortunately, I can't help you with this because I don't have enough knowledge about it.


What you can try is to seek help from one of the many PHP learning communities, or post the error on Redit.


I'll try to reach the team, but according to my last info, they're busy with FreiChat right now and aren't working that much on Codoforum.

Ah, ok. I'll wait to see if @admin responds. However, with there history so far this year I'm concerned with the future of Codoform.

They even recently disabled the normal login system. Now spam bots infecting form. No responds in weeks (nor even a login) nor response to emails.

Ya you are right - not even I did know what happend with the team and with Codoforum, but some days ago I wrote them via Twitter and they answered me:


They are working on FreiChat at the moment and they will close the forum for now. They also mentioned that it is not financially worthwhile and that there are probably problems in this regard - Corona certainly also contributed to this situation.


However, they have not confirmed to me that Codoforum will be completely discontinued - only at the moment FreiChat is more important, since it at least secures their income.


Codoforum will certainly continue after this crisis, but at the moment we have to expect that we will probably see no one here except me and I've only been a volunteer moderator for a good three/four years - so I don't really belong firmly to the team.

Hopefully they become more transparent as I've been a user of codoform for my online community for years. Hate to see Codologic go down.

Ya I find it also very sad, but a lot of developers have huge problems these days - it all because of Covid and the Ukraine war - people dont have the money to buy premium scripts.


I use Codologic products for around 8 years now and they always supportet their projects very very well - it is the first time that I see them struggling and neglecting their product and support.


Lets hope for the best - I think they will return. smile

As far as I know he did it because he cant give good support at the moment - thats why he disabled the login - partly.

Ah. 🙏 hopefully Admin comes back. If they don't in the next few months I might start looking for a more actively updated solution such as Discourse, however that'd be a last resort.

Can you try deleting the data from notify queue tables?
Maybe something has caused duplicate subscriptions which is causing this.


Make sure to keep a backup before running any queries though

Now.. uh.. one more weird thing has come up.


SSO isn't working correctly. When navigating to /index.php?u=/user/login it works automatically but on the homepage it doesn't..

No, no errors (not even in the console logs or Network work [with 'preserve log' enabled']). SSO just does not trigger unless navigated to /index.php?u=/user/login directly.

If anyone else experiences issues with this, disabling Freichat and clearing cache in the backend fixed it for me. Re-enabling Freichat made it bug again but doing those steps again fixed it.
