I`m working on a Portal system for CF and have Questions about CF topic Integration?

Hallo @community, @admin & @adesh

I`m working on some kind of Portal System for Codoforum. It is based on a Flat File System. With it You can convert every HTML5 Theme into a Portal or Welcome Page for Codoforum. It is already 80% done and most features such as online on page HTML and CSS live editing etc. are already working.

What I urgently need to know is:

Are there any "shortcodes" (like offered by Word Press Shortcode API) for Codoforum? I need some kind of a shortcode to integrate lets say Codoforums latest 10 Topics each rendered with the Topic Name and 250 letters of text etc.

Something like:

<html>
<head>
<title>Portal</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Newest 10 Topics</h1>
<?php_include;[topic_list id="top_10"] ?>
</body>
</html>

Any help would be awesome but please take into account that although I have a good knowledge of HTML and CSS, I only have a very subtle basic knowledge of PHP. A simple explanation would be best - thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Andy smile

Hi

Awesome work @WebCrew !
Would love to try it once you are done with it.

There aren't any short code like that available but if you are only looking for latest x topics to be displayed easily maybe we can help.

Is this portal system something outside codoforum or is it like a plug-in?

Awesome project and great to see it at 80% done. Looking forward to it.

Would be very nice to turn it as a plugin. Easier for most users to make use.

At the moment it's more or less a small but flexible FlatFile CMS that's what I created it for. Then I came up with the idea "why not make a portal system for CF from it". For now it is no CF plugin - the main reason is that I'm just not familiar enough with PHP and the friend who took over the PHP parts of the CMS is no longer involved in it.

It would be fantastic to have some kind of plugin for CF.

I'll finish the last few bits and pieces on it and then pass it on to you guys. Maybe you can make a CF plugin out of it - I think it shouldn't be that difficult and and no laborious time consuming work because there is no need for a database connection and all you need to do is replace the login system (a very simple system) with the CF administrator credentials - thats it.

As I said with the PHP parts, I had help - I did all the HTML and CSS parts and most of the JSON myself.

I think I'll be done with it by the middle to the end of next week at the latest. For CF it would definitely be a really great and very flexible extension. You can use any HTML5 theme with the help of a very few template tags. Repeatable content is also possible, such as a gallery or a simple blog. Even absolute HTML laypeople shouldn't have a problem to convert an HTML5 theme - it's super easy.

Well then, I'll hurry up and then send you the result. smile
