I installed FCX on my website. My users login with email and password.
The userID is stored in a cookie. When i set up FCH for showing -GUESTS- it seems to work.

The next step was to connect FCX to my userbase. I added a line to store the userid also in a session.

I also made a change to the arp.php on lines 182 -> 185 i changed the names to the field values of mij own user database. A few lines above i see the correct acces settings for my database.

The connection is ok, but what's the meaning of line 1 and 3 of this ?

When i change the administrator setting to -users- the chat is not showing up at the location where the userid is stored in a session/cookie. On the location where no user is logged in, the box shows up and reports to log in.

Do you have suggestions for me ?

i used your manual setup instructions.

.in freichat version 521 i dont get the error in custom.php

The custom installation has changed a bit from 5.x versions.

yes i read the instructions for 632. i installed it conform your information. i get an error on custom.php on line 33

I am getting the same error, cant seem to figure out how to resolve it.

I actually got mine fixed, I was looking that the wrong arg.php file from a previous attempt. Once I fixed the Database values in there it worked fine.

ik did again new clean install .. but the error stays! very strange

on new installed version i am getting again:

Make sure you have correctly edited the arg.php .

i did :)

I did a lot of testing .

First i made a sample registration form .
Then used both Cookie as well as Session to pass the users id to freichat .
And both worked without problems .

So you have made some mistake while editing arg.php .

After that i purposely entered wrong data in arg.php .
and it gave me the same error as you have mentioned .
Please verify whether you have provided the correct info about your user table to freichat .

It reports 5x code but it remains the same for 6x too .

But This is only the first step of custom installation .

I want to know exactly what changes you did in the second step
i.e editing arg.php

i did again a clean setup. and repeated al steps. Somehow it seems to work now.
I can connect to my users database. There was only 1 major change of my last setup:

- i placed the FREICHAT folder in the root dir of the site e.g. : www/freichat
before i placed it in www/scripts/freichat
