in my back end i have set the "Save Message History For" to 10 minutes but even after an hour, the message does not disappear. What did i do wrong? please help out thanks.

i know you can clear the chat from the database but i dont want to go to phpmyadmin every few days to clear it. I looked online for an answer and the only solution i came to was to delete it from phpmyadmin

Try changing it to 10 hours and see if the messages are deleted the next day .

okay i'm going to change it right now and try it now.

i changed it and it did nothing. the message is still there after a very very long time. meaning till now.

Go to freichat/server/freichat.php

Find below lines about line no . 365 .

This is happening again after i upgraded the chatbox to 7.2 now i try to look into the file and change it like before... it seems its already like that. yet the messages doesn't clear.

From v7.0 the functionality of auto-deleting messages is removed .

You have to delete them manually from freichat backend
