I have successfuly integrated Freichat using a custom integration - site members' username and avatars are fully integrated.

Launching individual chat/IM conversation with specific users from the web page are also working, using the documented JavaScript function

FreiChat.create_chat_window_mesg('the_username','the_user_id');

However this only works on desktop/laptop browsers... when Freichat is launching for mobile and tablet users this javascript function does not work.

Can somebody shed some light on this, and/or suggest how to get this important function working on mobile and tablet devices?

Hey did you purchase FreiChat with mobile support, if so, then launching a chat for mobile is quite different as it loads in its own page.

It is the free version of freichat in question.

A 'chat' button appears on the bottom-right of the mobile screen, and it does indeed launch in a new mobile window - showing all online users.

Is there a way for this version to allow launching a one-one-one chat by username/id in a javascript function on the page?

Once the mobile window is open, you can open a one-to-one chat with a user .

But it becomes difficult , if you want the mobile chat window to be opened as well as load the private one-to-one chat in one click .
