I have tried to find answer through the forum and also Google but I haven't find anything until now.

My question is if it's possible to create admins of users and make it possible for these to kick/ban/mute users?

Please, add possibility for users to choose interface language of chat.
This feature will be very useful possibility on multilingual sites.

For example, i am from Russia, i'm going to site, the site is multilingual, i'm choosing russian site language, but chat is still on english... and i can't change it's language and use it on my native russian.... - not convenient trifle :)

Please, add avatar support for Elgg!
Elgg is support avatars by default, look at its demo:
http://community.elgg.org/pg/dashboard/ - this is an elgg 1.7 version on official site, there are all users with AVATARS!
Current version of Elgg is 1.8.5!

Like example, here is a code from commercial script arrowchat, to return url of the avatar in ELGG 1.8.5:

awesome chat so far, but I've ran into one major problem. well it's major for me at least. lol. this isn't SSL compliant. it breaks SSL. :-) i think that needs to be fixed and kept in-mind for future expansion of this extension.

Is there any plan on adding moderator tools so that select users will be able to clear the chat window or kick other people from the chat?

I love the way the script works, and I use it for the website staff to communicate, but I would like to be able to implement this for all my users, but I would need to be able to have staff members moderate the chat rooms.

Also the ability to create rooms with special access, either password protected, or possibly a list of User Id's that has access to it.

to create a link to open adiccional chat rooms, in addition to that is placed on the lateral. My website is in Spanish, as it could change the word chat room ajax tab by another name. From what I've seen is in the language file. Thank you.

I was just curious why this is not using the GPL License. It seems to be more flexible and compatible with other software projects.

I have a semi good idea regarding your chat script basically
and I don't know if it is already implemented but what if you add a feature to allow for multi user unlimited client support for example two admins or more sign in and any visitor can get IM help via there site, if you don't understand me visit zopim.com because it is basically like that in every way, but have it as an added option.

I have a few suggestions regarding chat.

My inspiration for this idea is derived from MMORPG Games and their chat clients.

On some popular MMORPG Games they use chat "Channels" for communication. For example, say I am in a "Guild" (a group of players under one name) and I want to talk to only my guild members. I type a slash command into a chat box, hit space, and I instantly switch channels to type my message. Another example, I have a "Party" of members I am grouped with and I want to talk to that party only. I type a slash command into a chat box, hit space, and I can talk to that channel. The same concept could be applied for web based solutions.

It would be awesome if the administrator could create default channels for communication. To expand on this idea it would also help if users could create a certain amount of channels for temporary use. For an administrator it would be awesome if we could format the commands and the type of action it creates. Later this could be adapted for other action uses. Think IRC style syntax using Ajax.

Example
<default channels with limited options>
/guild [space] "type message"
/party [space] "type message"

<create channel>
/join {space] [channelname]

This could be an alternative way to work with chatrooms and allows for more sophisticated line based commands. Keep personal messages working the same, but aggregate the global history of all the difference assets. This could all be run in a input box on a chat bar at the bottom of a website.

Also as another addition, channels can be color coded at administrator discretion.

In gmail users can change the theme's of the chat, which it would make the chat system more personalized if users could select the templates which you have installed in freichat. Perhaps in the additional options button in the chat bar it could be placed.

I feel as though it is important to show the " (name) Is Typing..." because it allows you to know if they are about to send you a message or not. Helpful if a conversation slows down, but even more importantly when someone is typing a long message you want to know if they are typing. This would also help if you are left wondering if they left to do something. A very important feature for future versions.
