Live Codoforum Site allowing Facebook Logins

I asked this almost a year ago, didn't get a great response, and I am asking again now.

This software supposedly has FB/Twitter login support, but, I've done a Google search for "Powered by Codoforum" to find forums out there that are using it. To a T, every site falls into two categories:

  1. Does not allow FB/Twitter login (and even this board falls under that)
  2. If they do have the buttons for it, EVERY site I've visited when you click it shows either... "Missing provider application credentials.", or, following getting the Facebook "do you want to allow this site", then I get "Authentication failed. The user has canceled the authentication or the provider refused the connection."

Obviously, some don't want that feature, that is great. I also get that if people don't get their credentials set correctly, #2 is going to happen. I get that.

I've heard the spiel back from CL "It's free, so, why not download it and try it". But, if this TRULY has FB/Twitter login support, I would assume there should be at least ONE "known" website out there that is using it successfully. I don't want to spend hours on something that literally NOBODY ELSE from what I've seen so far has gotten to work.

I like a lot of other things about the board (Responsive layout, primarily tags instead of "forum sections" to define posts), but, FB/Twitter login is a big one we want to move towards.

I think to do that you need SSL installed site. I have the same issue in my site(which does not have SSL) and forced to remove facebook/twitter login because if users can't login then that's bad for the site. Same for the google.

Yeah I also want to try Codoforum to launch my forum, but I really need this social mdeia login function to work.
Codologic seems silent on this issue unfortunately.

Hi,

It seems like many are facing the same issue.

Can any of you give us your FTP details and codoforum admin username/password ?
We will set it up for you and while doing that hopefully we will be able to understand why people are facing trouble integrating with the social logins.

Necessity is the mother of all inventions!

Hmmm, good call.... does make some sense there. I am going to see if I can find any https Codoforum installs specifically, and maybe some of those have it working.

Hello CL Admin.... can you confirm or deny Pokedevil's explanation that an https hosted site is required to use the social media logins?

Yes, you do not need https for social media logins to work.
Most of the times we have observed that the problem usually is in the app settings.

A more exhaustive documentation should fix any app related issues.
