I'm very happy you're back. I've already announced a little surprise for you in the Codologic forum, and I really hope you'll find it useful. I've been working on Codoforum myself, and quite extensively at that.

The scope of it might surprise you at first:

You're not just getting a few simple fixes, but a thoroughly tested maintenance/security version with

• updated dependencies,
• PHP 8.4 compatibility,
• a revamped, modern SSO,
• a new day/night mode,
• a new privacy system plugin,
• a working bridge for Codoforum (in addition to FreiChat), a dedicated plugin for Codoforum, and one that you can post in the Joomla Marketplace,
• clear maintainer documentation so you can easily get to grips with my changes,
• and a practically tested reference environment.

Codoforum has undergone multiple security tests:

• First a PHP linter,
• then Dependabot on GitHub,
• followed by even more rigorous and in-depth security checks with Codex,
• and later two passes with AI security agents – Codoforum is now probably as bulletproof as possible.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful message and for everything you've clearly been pouring into Codoforum while we were heads-down elsewhere. It genuinely means a lot to see a community member step up like this.
The 5.4.1 maintenance work sounds excellent, modernizing dependencies, tightening security, and getting ahead of PHP 8.4 compatibility is amazing as it keeps a project healthy long-term. Great to hear it's already been tested end-to-end on a live forum.

CodoBridge is a fantastic idea. Moving away from email-based identity matching toward a stable, non-reassignable identity plus keeping the client secret out of the browser is a very nice improvement and we'd consider an upgrade over the legacy SSO plugin. Splitting it into Joomla and Codoforum packages so FreiChat + Codoforum can work together through a Joomla connection is a smart way to future-proof things too.

We're looking forward to seeing the Joomla 6.1 build progress.
The Privacy Plugin for GDPR/cookie compliance is also very welcome , that's been overdue given how standard those requirements have become.
And yes, we'd absolutely love to have you back as a moderator. Your help keeping spam out of the community has always been appreciated.

Looking forward to the surprise you mentioned, and best of luck with parlyn.org too, a 2.5D game engine is no small undertaking. We have some experience with unity development so we are genuinely excited about the new game engine.

And I also really enjoy using Codoforum myself, so there was a bit of self-interest involved as well. Either way, I'm very happy that you appreciate it.
